2 days for children (Duration 14 hours)
This 2-day tour is recommended for the families with children. You will see the city sights that are interesting for children, visit Grand Model of Russia and marvelous Peterhof fountain park that is called “the Russian Versailles”.
Day 1 (09:00-17:00) 8 hours
9.00 – 11:00 – Meet your guide at the passenger terminal, City tour
You will get acquainted with all city's major highlights. You will see the Winter Palace, residence of the Russian tsars, St. Isaac's square, Kazan cathedral, the Admiralty, University, Point of Bazil Island, , Menshikov palace, Academy of Fine Arts. You will see the main squares and architectural ensembles of the city, beautiful bridges and places usually interesting for children such as the Bronze Horseman, Eliseev shop windows with moving fairy tales characters, the cats – Elisey and Vasilisa on the Small Sadovaya street – symbols of Saint-Petersburg, monument to Photographer and his pet – the small dog, a small bronze bird called Chizhik – Pyzhik that lives on the Fountain River embankment, Egyptian Sphinxes and sculptures of lions, decorating the city. You will make photo stops at the most beautiful places.
11.00 – 11:30 - Going to Peterghof by hydrofoil. Usually it is new and exciting experience for children.
11.30 – 13.00 – A tour of Upper Gardens and Lower Fountain Park - called «The Russian Versailles» for the abundance of cascades, sculptures, fountains. In the park you will see Grand Fountain Cascade, smaller cascades, Marine Canal and splendid park pavilions. The guide will tell the children what those statues symbolize. Children will be amazed seeing the «trick fountains» or water amusements. For example, if you sit on the bench, the fountain begins to operate and you cannot escape the wall of downward jets without getting wet.
13.00– 14.00– It will take you about 1 hour to get back to the city as Peterhof is about 30km from the city. This time children need for relaxation and rest.
14.00– 15.00 Lunch (optional, not included in price)
15:00-16:15 - The Hermitage tour. It is the main museum of Russia (3 million exhibits) and the treasure-house of world-ranking masterpieces. The tour will be through the highlights. The guide will show you the Great enfilade of the State rooms in the Winter palace. The children will see the most interest exhibits, such as Egyptian Hall with a mummy, an enormous sculpture of Jupiter, a huge Kolyvan Vase and others. This tour is entertaining and not exhausting at all because it is quite short.
16:15-16:45 - Walking along Nevsky Prospect, shopping, having ice-cream (is included)
17:00 - You are back at your ship
18:00- check out our evening program: ballet, opera, folk show (optional)
Day 2 (10:00-16:00) 6 hours
10:00-11:00- City tour, part 2. Walking along Nevsky prospect, everyday life, visit of the famous Eliseev shop to admire its illumination and a variety of exclusive food. To feel the special atmosphere of St. Petersburg the guide can take you to a little local café, that is very popular among the citizens with hot tea and very delicious buns called “pyshki”. Visit of the Farmers market and one of the metro stations (optional). Free time, shopping.
11:00-12:00 - Visit of the Spilt Blood Church that adorns the central part of the city. It is decorated with 7000 square meters of mosaics and amazes and with multicolored "onion" domes. It was built at the place where Alexander II was mortally wounded by terrorist on March 1st, 1881, That is why people call this church The Savior on the Spilt Blood Church.
12:00-13:00 - Lunch (optional, not included in price)
13:00-13:40 - Drive to Grand Model of Russia Museum
13:40-15:15– Grand Model of Russia Museum inside tour.
Your guide will show you the huge Grand model of Russia (800 square meters) where in detail you will see the attractions in miniature and life in all parts: in Siberia, Baikal lake, tundra, even the pig farm, trains and cars moving in all directions across the country. Like real! There is even mini "Sapsan" train. You will see how every 15 minutes from the East to the West night comes and gradually from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad light is lit in the windows. So it is dark in the hall and there is feeling of real night and everybody stop moving. The landscape is shown with all possible details – seas, rivers, lakes, forests and mountains.
16:00 – Back at your ship.
